Solved choose the program

extremely frustrated as i cant seem to download or open things normally.
continually get a message:

choose the program you want to use to open this file.

this even happens when i try to use fix functions on vista and because i dont know which one to use it just cancels out and doesnt fix the issue.

have tried to set up automatic file associations. it doesnt work either

Hello, can you run a malware check first and then post results , and then we can try other things ? Try running a full scan of the Free program : Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

I would answer the same as the above, for now. If you cant download, try to download malwarebytes to a finger drive, using another computer and then try to transfer.
Try to open in safe mode.
Does sound like a virus or Malware.

hey guys. thanks so much. your awesome. had one issue come up on testing and this seem to have changed heaps on my computer including a whole heap of icons that havent shown up for ages. thanks you so much. i should be alright for now. thank you!!!
