Computer Major

Hey guys,

I am currently going to college right now and I want to major in something to do with Computers. The only thing is, I am not the greatest at math... I am not bad, but it surely isn't my best subject.

Do you guys know of any particular major that doesn't require as much math as the bachelor's in Computer Science, but is still computer oriented? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

As far as I know, computer science degrees require a math minor, which includes calculus. That is what my degree happens to be. I did ask my advisor if I could switch minors as I was interested in archeology. He said I would have to get some review board at the university's permission. Evidently the accreditation board who decides what courses are to be required for what drgrees, don't think outside the box well.

So it might be possible to have a CS degree without a math minor, but it may take a bit of appearing before a review board, making an articulate presentation by letter or speech, etc. to get it changed.

But it is evidently possible, depending on the university to allow it.

Interesting. Sounds like I would have to find a minor that would be applied to Computers in some beneficial or relevant way. Thanks for the comment.

I did manage to get my undergrad advisor to let me take 3 archeology and anthropology classes.

I pointed out to him that computers are used to track finds at the archeology digs and computers to track and write up the information from an anthropology trip.
