deleting

Hi everyone i am new to vista and having trouble deleting a search box.
The search box in question is at the bottom of the start menu in the left hand corner and is the very narrow search box,where if you type in http: Up comes where you have been also e mails and web sites.

Can someone explain in very simple steps how to delete these items because i am completly lost

Could you explain a little bit more as to what you want to delete exactly, is it the actual search box or the items that come up as your typing, because you can't delete the actual search box, thats there to enable you to search !

Hi there

its the contents of the search box when you type in http: It shows items like web sites you have been too.
If you type in http: You will see what i mean.

Have you got ccleaner dowloaded ?
If not you'll find it in the software downloads here on this site the newer version has just been released it will clean out your cache another way to do it is by running disk cleanup to do that click start>all programs>accessories>tools>disk cleanup
try this !

hi the disc clean-up did not work.will look at software but i believe i need to go via history some how?

Hi everyone first thanks for replys, how ever i have now solved the problem by the following,

click tools click on browsing history, then click on history which says delete history, list of web sites visited. This will empty search box.

But in trying to find how to do the above i have some how lost my arrows that move right and left,and the enlarge and zoom bar. Any ideas how i can get it back?

I must add i am a complete learner the vista manuel does not help to much.
