Hi there.
I wanted my computer do dual-boot with XP, so i made a new partition called F, and then i ran the XP CD and installed in F the CD. But now, when booting, it only shows Windows XP Professional. Have i accidentally formatted my VIsta? Because my programs from Vista are still there.

Alex.

Hello Alex,

Usually you would install XP first then Vista. When you install XP second it just removes the MBR boot files for Vista and boots to XP instead. To fix this, you just need to run a Startup Repair for Vista to replace it's MBR boot files.

Hope this helps,

Thanks a lot , it worked for me.
In the starting, i thought "God ****ing Damnit, i cant belive im going to format again"
and now you saved my time... My hero

And for Mansrm18 ( i think that is the name xD) thanks for the help, but the startup repair did his job, so there was no reason to use the EasyBCD. Thanks =)

Thanks a LOT :D

Alex.
