Solved Folder problem...

My problem is that I have a folder that keeps popping up on my desktop for no reason.

I delete it all the time, but it always comes back within minutes and I have no idea what program is causing it do to this..

It is a custom music folder that I had made, but no music is inside anymore. How can I stop it from coming up? I have never had this problem before and is driving me nuts lol...


Sum up of problem
-Folder called "The Eagles" (music folder I made) keeps popping up on desktop for no reason

- Delete it many times, but always comes back

- How do I make it stop

Hi Adam,

Double check with Option Two in this tutorial below to make sure that you did not change the default location of the C:\Users\(user name)\Music folder to be in the C:\Users\(user name)\Desktop folder by mistake.

Ok I have found that this folder just pop's up when I am using Windows Media player.

I fixed it

It was always creating a folder because that's where the default location was to "rip a cd"

So happy I got that folder to go away every time I open WMP!

And for those of you that may be experiencing a similar problem, here is how you can change the "Rip To" Folder in Windows Media Player:

1) Open Windows Media Player
2) Move the mouse to just below the "Rip" Button:

3) Click the small arrow to open the Rip menu, and select "More Options...":

4) Under "Rip Music" -> "Rip music to this location", click "Change":

​

5) Select the folder to which you want to rip your music, and click "OK":

​

6) Click "OK" to close the Options window.

Incidentally, changing the "Rip To" folder will also change the location to which your playlists are saved, which is to say that playlists are saved within the "Rip To" folder, under a folder named "Playlists". So be sure to move your playlists to the new location before deleting your old "Rip To" folder.
