Other than the obvious value and honor of having friends and being friends (and can presumably count on these people for more help than from others if it is ever needed), does this feature offer anything special that I haven't noticed? For example, can you send a broadcast message to all your friends at the same time (overriding the normal 5 person limit)? Does this change the rep guidelines (for better or worse)? Can you separate PMs from friends from the other PMs for saving or deleting purposes or can you save more than the 100 limit if they are friends or have a special friends folder with a separate 100 messages? Does it give you more access to their profile information (it doesn't appear so)? Is there any difference at all?

The primary purpose of friends is the easy accessibility that it allows. It is assumed that you will be in contact with these individuals more frequently than with other members. You merely have to go to User Control Panel, friends and contacts, and you will have an alphabetical listing, making it easier to contact them. Just click on the name and you have the profile. That is the only benefit that I have noticed.

Thanks, Richard. I hadn't considered the easier access aspect - that's one to remember. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on something more significant and you've pretty much confirmed that.
