Solved From vista to what? W7? or W8?

The director of our computer dept. at the university has told me to stick with vista and just install either FF or GC as an alternate on- demand browser. But he refused to recommend one over the other.

So, guys can you oblige me and help me decide: FF vs GC. Deciding features being size, speed, safety and surfing maneuveribility. And non-dependence on Java(I do not mean Javascript)

It used to be that FF could be very slow loading. Chrome with multiple exe instances was much faster. But the latest FF releases seem to have solved this problem. I switched to chromium for about a year. But I'm happier with FF using a single exe as it's just as fast as far as I can tell, while using fewer resources. But it may vary especially if you are a FF AddOn glutton or load 30 tabs on startup. :)

ilikefree- there are numerous free apps that provide the familiar start button in Win 8. You've probably discovered them by now.

Yes I have seen them. It was a computer I was working on for someone not mine. I plan on sticking with Vista until i'm forced to switch
