Hi everyone longtime no see. I have a hard drive question for you all. I picked up a Dell XPS 420 and have 2 HD set up in Raid 1 as I need the mirror. It came with one HD and I installed a 2nd for the mirror and the 2nd failed within a week. I got a bad one but it was identical to the 1st. My question is other than size and rpm just how close do they need to be in spec to each other or does it matter? By spec I mean the original HD was from 2011 (see the pic) vs. one being made years later so my concern is firmware being different causing a problem etc. Also what do you think of the "White Label" HD's. Thanks everyone.
