hard drive problem

Hello guys im sorry if this is the wrong place to post this i didnt find a hard drive section

my problem is my hard drive light is on most of the time and my computer runs real...l...l...l...l...l...ly and its really anoying sometimes it runs fast when the light is off but like 70% of the time it lags i tryed to defrag and reboot and removed the startup stuff i did all the things i could find under google but non of them worked this problem is like a come and go kind of thing but its comes more then it goes... i would love some help cant play any of my games



i got windows vista 64 bit home
4gigs ram
750 sagate hard drive (donno how to spell the name of it)
Q6600 cpu
