Help drive problems

Okay at one point when I had a virus I had to reinstall windows and when I did I noticed instead of wiping out the system it just installed it twice and all the old files were kepted so I had a friend of mine remove the file and when I did It had alot more space and I thought the problem was fixed but now half a year later my computer has almost gone haywire its lieing about how much memorie it has because my mom has bought me 2 ram plus the 64 bit that it came with and I have a hard drive to put all music pics and videos on I've tried to reinstall window and all sort of stuff but it keeps say it can't do it because it docent have enought memorie so I'm stuck and clueless

I think that the problem may be with the ram that you bought. It sounds like you mixed and matched. You should always go out and buy all the ram at one time, not piece by piece. That being said lets see if we can get more information.
Bring up task manger, (right click on bottom task bar) what do you see on the performance tab (send us a screen shot)
Take this easy memory test. It will take about 8 hours.
