my computer used to see(recognize) my memory (SD)cards before, then it just stopped one faithful day.actually i have this software that on activation,it tells me the drivers my computer needs.and ever since i downloaded and installed this drivers it has stopped working(my SD card reader).
when i check device manager the SD memory card shows this yellow marking on it and when i double-click on it,it tells me ,THIS DEVICE CANNOT START(CODE10).i have tried uninstalling,i have even tried upgrading, but none of them worked. i use a Dell laptop,VOSTRO1510.PLEASE HELP ME.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Get rid of this driver program - use REVO uninstaller (advanced option).
2. Uninstall the driver in device manager and reboot.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

plEase, were do i get this REVO uninstaller from?anyway i have tried uninstalling from the options given to me after double clicking, and its still the same thing.
Someone suggested to me that i should "FORMAT" the system partially (THAT IS FORMATTING,BUT ACTUALLY NOT FORMATTING.MORE LIKE A RECOVERY OF THE DRIVERS)since .all my document and settings will still be intact, but all the drivers will be set back to their initial state as when i just bought it.
HOW ABOUT THAT?

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go here to download REVO...

Use it to remove the software program that is telling you what drivers you need.

Once that software is removed, use the device manager to uninstall the driver for your card reader. When you reboot the computer, Vista will find the correct driver and load it automatically...

Do NOT reformat without trying what whs has suggested...

Michael

ogunleyeolajide,

No problems...everyone here is always happy to help. These programs that tell you they will make sure all of your drivers are up to date are tempting, but they usually cause more harm than good. I personally have my systems set up to back up files weekly, do a system restore point weekly and use MSE to do a full scan weekly. I keep CCleaner handy to clean up every so often too ;).

All My Best,

Michael

Michael's use of system restore points and CCleaner is very wise. For more information on how to maintain your computer's system performance click the link below.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i did exactly what you ask of me,uninstall the driver program software then reboot the system, some how it didn't work.but out of curiosity i started playing around with some stuff, like getting a DELL 1500 SOFTWARE from a friend and running it so as to fix any problem,And surprisingly it worked. So now it works perfectly fine,i even used it to check other minor issues and they all work fine now.THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR CONCERN AND CARE,I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.JIDE
