Solved Http error 403

Computer running slow and keep getting error message...HTTP 403...Microsoft says nothing wrong with connection (what do they know??!!). I Googled the term but couldn't really understand what it was saying. What is error 403 and what do I need to do? It's been happening on and off for a few days. I ran MBAM Professional version, advanced disc cleaner and Super AntiSpyWare. A couple of Trojans were found. My wife ran an MBAM quick scan this AM and found some sort of rouge or ad ware...not sure...I didn't see it. Please help. Thanks. Fred

An Http error means that there has been a problem viewing the website
Get help with website error messages (HTTP errors)

If none of these suggestions work, try another browswer at least as a test. There is Chrome, Firefox and many other good ones.
Have the virus/malware software clean up the problems.

All pages (or most) are loading very slowly. The Microsoft info didn't seem to apply to the troubles I'm encountering. Thanks for your suggestions...got any more?

What ususlly helps is to remove the add-ons.

Disable all as a test.

Disabled all add-ons...still running very slow...also installed Chrome and it's ruunning slow as well. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help....Fred

Try a system restore
Be sure to go back far enough (before the virus etc)
If you do not go back far enough, you will get the virus back

Hello, pop into Control Panel and open up Internet Options while you are trouble shooting this issue and check that in Connection tab, in Lan settings , ensure that there is no check mark in the Use Proxy settings and that you have a check mark in the Auto detect settings, click OK. Alot of times , malware may change these settings . Just a thought as you solve the issue.

Did sys restore back to 2/2/2012...system still running slow...will now try your other suggestion in Control Panel...also check Microsoft Essentials history and it had removed 2 items...see attachment

No tick by Use Proxy Settings....Auto Dect was not ticked...I ticked that and now I'll see what happens...Thanks

Tried all your suggestions and still no luck....system running very slow...web pages loading slow or not at all (error message...Page Cannot Be Found or something to that effect...It took this forum page forever to load..

Tried Chrome...same problems...MSE and MBAM have found several malicious items...currently running MBAM full scan...

Look at the bottom right of your screen. There is a internet icon, right click and then diagnose.

Also, when Mbam gets done, check the protection tab out and make sure you have enabled the module . I have paid mbam and I have had stuff blocked by mbam to stop me from getting infected .

Im getting near the bottom of the barrel, but that does not mean these last few ideas will not work
Try in anothe user account. Yours may be corrupt.
Try to repair any OS corruption with an SFC.
