Icons on the Start Bar

Hey I really want to get rid of these icons that are on all the boxes at the bottom.

Where do I go to turn them off?

No it's in the Control Panel somewhere but I just can't find where the option to turn it off is.

If you mean the start menu, you just right click and remove.
If you mean the items by the clock, go to control panel and notification area.
or type notification area in search

No when you open a program or folder up it makes a little icon for it, like if I open up Chrome it'll put a chrome icon on the box that pops up on the Start Bar.

I don't think there ia such an option to remove the icons but leave the texts on.

There is a tutorial on removing the text but leaving the icons on.
But that is the opposite of what you want.

Out of curiosity, why you want to remove the icons ?
