Solved Internet Browser Problem?

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this problem...

I have had a small website for a couple of years, and have just renewed my registration. When I type in the web address instead of navigating to my index page all I get is a page popping up with my website title, and a listing of other sites, presumably handled by sedo.co.uk whose name appears at the bottom of the web page.

This is only happening on my computer - I can access the correct webpage from any other computer, and even my Kindle eBook reader!

Also, the photos I have in my public/html folder, although visible to other computers on an eBay auction, are showing up as little red X's on my computer.

My own hosting company, HostHi, are saying that it is a memory cache problem, but I really cannot fix it. I have cleared thge cache and the history, but the same wrong web page still keeps appearing.

Anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Mike

Welcome
To me sounds like a cookie problem
Download and use ccleaner. Make sure that all references to cookies are checked. In addition check system temporary files. You will lose all your cookies and will have to remember passwords and Ids, the first time you go to a site, but it should solve your problem.
If that does not work, we have this excellent tutorial, too

For Vista too

If nothing seems to work, test with another broswer. Im sure that one of these methods will do the trick. Firefox would be a good browser to use.

Richard,

Clearing out the cookies using ccleaner worked perfectly within seconds. I was amazed at the amount of rubbish I had on my computer; this has all gone too. I am now going back to the program to see what else it can do. I actually use Firefox as my browser.

Many, many thanks for your help on this, I am pretty useless when it comes to computers, I prefer making bagpipes, and this is my website that I couldn't get into::D

You are very welcome Mike. Come by any time with questions or just to learn and have fun. This is a great place for it all.
Even though considered safe, uncheck all references to registry.

If you come by to check this thread, again, and would be intererested in other pointers in maintaining your computer, just ask. The members and I would be very happy to help.
