Hello Guys,
Im not sure if this is in the right section but anyways ive got a Acer Aspire 4310 which WIndows Vista installed. It needs a new battery and RAM and i am wishing to sell my laptop so the buyer buys the stuff needed because i am willing to buy an Sony Vaio C Series. It cant turn on cause the battery is buggered.

So is it worth selling it?
Im in NZ so yeah.

Thanks For Your Time,

SHAUN BOWERS

Welcome
In todays world, I would not sell it the way that you mentioned. There is probably a lot of sentsitive information in that computer, your bank password, your email accounts etc. We dont want to take a chance of a stranger, up to no good, getting that information. Getting the information would be easy, just put the hard drive in another computer.

I hope that you realize that if you had a password or something more important and then you erased it and put music, it the origianl information is still there. The only way to get rid of it permanently is to zero format or use software like eraser.
That being said, you will not be able to get much for a computer in that condition.
If you have never had any sensitive information on the computer and do not have to take much time or spend much to sell it, give it a shot.
You will not get much.

If you nuke the HDD and reinstall Vista it will be OK provided it runs at least on house electricity. But you still need to find a buyer - Acer is not your top shelf laptop.

I bought this Vaio a few months ago and am very happy with it. Took the HD screen and the backlit keyboard as options. Plus I replaced the HDD by a 90GB Vertex2 SSD and stuck the HDD into an external eSata enclosure. Works well.
