Is there a way to kill this useless error message?

Most of the time I use Firefox with Flash disabled, but every so often I enable it to have access to certain content then disable it again. Sometimes (but not always) when I close Firefox I get an error message that says, "Firefox has stopped working" then provides a link that says, "Close the program." I have Error Reporting turned off in Vista because I get tired of being bugged with error messages that provide no solutions or details about how to fix the problem, but this error message persists. I found the error in Event Viewer and posted the information below. It looks to me like it has something to do with Flash. The faulting module (NPSWF32_11_6_602_180.dll) is Flash. I think it's detecting that Flash has been disabled and thinks there's a problem, but I'm not 100% about that. Can anyone tell from the data what's going on? And most of all, is there a way to kill this annoying message once and for all?

First off your version of firefox is extremely old which may be part of your problem since the current version of flash player requires version 4 or later. Second why do you disable flash? If it is disabled and you go to a website that is designed to use it (which is a lot of sites) the site won't be able to function correctly or even at all. That error might be because firefox is trying to use it and can't since you have it disabled. My recommendation is to update firefox and enable flash. While you are at it you might want to update flash if it is out of date.

Thanks for that townsbg. I don't know why that error message is reporting my Firefox version as 1.9.2.4448, I actually am using 3.6.28, still old but not as old as that message says. I have the latest version of Flash and it works with 3.6.28. My question isn't about what version I'm using or why I choose to disable Flash, it's about why I keep getting a Windows error message when Error Reporting is turned off?? I've got it disabled for all users and the Windows Error Reporting Service is also disabled.

You are getting that message because firefox has crashed and is unresponsive which might be because it is trying to use flash when you have it disabled.

My husband and I divorced over religious differences.. He thought he was God and I didn't.
So answer this: have you tried not disabling it?
