Solved Link problem

I probably do not have a "UNIQUE" problem, but it is very annoying. Whenever I click on a link that is contained in a website or in an email Windows WORD opens!!!and there is a box that pops up and asks for a user name and a password.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to get rid of it? This only started several days ago.

Hello Old Baldy, and welcome to Vista Forums.

In Default Programs, double check to make sure that Internet Explorer is set as the default program with all of it's associations (specifically "URL") as well.
