missing files

hi,

can anyone help me with this problem,The security devices driver(x86)service failed to start due to the following error:The system could not find the file specified.

Can you tell the experts when and where you are seeing this error message, please give them more information about the machine you are running.

How long have you had the error message and what were you doing when you first saw it, have you tried a System Restore point to just before.

Don't think I can help but I'm throwing out ideas for you in case something jogs your memory that may help fix it.:)

hiya,
error logged in event viewer,desktop is hp compaq sr5129uk,running windows vista 32 sp2,already tried system restore,don,t know if it has any bearing on it but i,d already had sp2 on system about 6 weeks ago,started having probs went back to sp1 then was advised to update to sp2 again.There are a lot of other errors in event viewer,thought about setting it back to factory settings but i did,nt get the reinstallation disc.
