Monitor - No Signal

While playing any game, my monitor blinks off with a No Signal message and a few seconds later my computer finishes crashing and I have to reboot. I've replaced the graphics card, ram, and motherboard, and ensured all drivers are up to date, but I'm still getting the exact same issue. It only happens when playing games - I can leave it running the desktop for as long as I want.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hello simplex409,
Does it blue screen before crashing ?.
If so, zip up your minidump files and we will take a look at them, maybe they will tell us what is going on.
To find them go to, C: > Windows > minidump.
Zip them up, and upload them with your next post as an attachment.
Also can you fill in your system specs, thanks.

Hi,

Nope, no blue screen, just the monitor goes black and a few seconds later sound stutters and I have to reset. I forgot to mention, I've also reinstalled Vista and replaced the monitor.

Specs... ok;

OS :: Windows Vista Home Premium
Mainboard :: Biostar NF520-A2 TE
CPU :: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+
Ram :: 4 gigs
Graphics :: ATI Radeon HD 4800

There are only couple of things that you haven't replaced, the PSU, and the HDD.
Can you confirm that there is nothing overclocked, it's all default.
And this is on any and every game you play ?.

Can you download this piece of software and use the benchmark part, you can test your system to see if and where the problem is.

I'm guessing you have all the latest drivers, GPU, Sound, Chipset, and all the rest.
When did this start, have you installed/un-installed any software/hardware. (other than the new parts fitted).
What PSU do you have at the moment ?.
Try the bench-testing software and post you results, good luck.

That was happening to me and this is how I was able to solve the issue... your case may be different though.

In my case, I have an Acer 2216W LCD screen, it turned out to be the monitor driver. It was not compatible with my video card, video driver, Vista x64 or even perhaps vista.

My solution, seek a newer driver, one compatible with Vista x64. I found one, it was not for my monitor but for a newer Acer LCD... no matter, since that day, I have had ZERO problems with loosing signal.

I do use Digital and not Analog Signal though... just in case.
