How do I move or pin icon from desktop to start menu?

I got it.... just cut/paste to the start menu...so easy.

Here's the full scoop on pinning items to the Start Menu:

PIN TO START MENU – Initially, to have a folder pinned to your Start Menu, you have to set Vista to allow folders to be pinned to the Start Menu. Afterwards, you can then right click on the C:\Users\(user-name)\folder name folder and click on Pin to Start Menu.

Only pin the actual source folder and not a shortcut to the folder. If you place a folder shortcut in the Start Menu, it will not expand like a folder when clicked on. Instead, it will only open in a new window when clicked on. You will need to create a New Folder in the Start Menu for the folder to expand in it. Plus, it is easier for a shortcut to be moved or deleted, causing the pinned folder in the Start menu to not work anymore.
