MSN... intrusively out of control.

I finally acquiesced to MSN relentless campaign: I downloaded IE 9.

But now there is no stopping. Another relentless campaign that interrupts my surfing: Download Enhanced Internet Explorer 9

Now it is IE 9 for Bing and MSN. How do I tell MSN enough already? How do I stop being interrupted by this intrusion? And then what's next if I again just up-grade?

At the bottom of the page, click on get IE9 without Bing. That should stop it. It may download what you already have, but that should not be a problem.

I had to include the IE 9 enhanced website URL to Privacy list of always block site to stop it from diverting me to its webpage when I surf. Now the AD for dpwnloading enhanced IE9 + MSN headings occupy 1/3 of my home page.

Are other browsers as intrusively advertizing? Like Fox or Mozilla?

I just now realized that www.yahoo.com and www.aol.com are practically ad free. There is no space wasted advertizing to download anything. Temnporarily, I will just change my homepage. But I have a feeling I will eventually distant myself from MSN if this intrusive advertizings continue.

Just start with a system restore point. restore the system earlier point before to IE9 installation.

System Restore

now if you need IE9 to reinstall again. Download it from here.

Download Internet Explorer 9

and now you can set yahoo or aol as your home page.

I abandoned AOL years ago because of too many ads. Now I am headed towards abandoning MSN for the same reason.

This on your face campaign to download IE9, then Enhanced IE9 is nothing short of abusive intrusive inconsiderate invasion of my computing privacy.

I use about:blank as home page. Then I set up Speed Dial to open on new blank tab. Every time I hit the Home button I get a page with my Speed Dial.

I'm using Chromium portable but the same trick may work in IE. I'm not sure if Speed Dial has an IE extension. Also if you haven't tried MaxThon you may like it. Has a lot of user written plugins and extensions like FF with a community of sites for them. It uses IE engine and was multiple tab years ago.

Now I like Chromium because I only need a few extensions. But it can be fun trying out all the AddOns in MaxThon if you haven't done it. :)
