My computer won't boot

Last thing i did was to prioritise Hard drive in the boot sector.
1. Hard Drive
2. CD drive
3. CD drive
4. Nothing


Now i can't even get the Post Message screen.

I've tried reset
I've tried Holding reset for 20 sec
I've tried Switching off
I've tried Holding switch off for 20 sec
I've tried Cmos
I've tried holding Cmos for 20 sec

Now i'm stuck can anyone help!

Hello Trax,

See if resetting the BIOS to default settings may help.

If you cannot boot to BIOS, then you can reset it manually by shutting down the computer, unplug it, crossing the CMOS jump pins on the motherboard or temporarily remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes and replace, plug up the computer, restart the computer.

Did you select the right drive when you changed the settings.

It didn't ask which Hard drive it just said Hard drive. So that may have been the problem then...

There should be an area in the BIOS that lets you select which hard drive is first and second I don't remember where it will be and what its called at the moment.

In my BIOS, I have a separate "Hard Disk Boot Priority" section that tells it which specific hard drive to boot first from. Below this option, I have the normal "Boot Priority" list for hard drive, CD/DVD, etc....... You may have something similar.
