Hope you guys can help.
I have a Toshiba A300 laptop with Vista home premium.
A few weeks ago I put it to sleep by lowering the lid and when I came back a few hours later to start using it, the laptop just had a black screen. The backlighting was still on, but it wouldn't start. I turned it off and back on again, where I had an option to run system recovery or start as normal. well I tried both options but it would only go so far as to show the microsoft symbol and then black screen again.
I tried a few things and nothing worked so we had to reformat it and reinstall everything. Was working fine for about a month or so, but now exactly the same thing has happened.
The comp is 14 months old ie: just out of warranty.
So annoyed!! Please tell me I don't have to reformat it all over again. Does someone have any ideas as to why this is happening over and over again? I use it predominantly to surf the web and study online. I'm going to die studying online without a laptop so looking for advice asap please.
Thanks in advance,
Carly
