I had a dual boot, vista\ubuntu, I lost ubuntu which had grub, now vista wont boot, and the geniuses at Toshiba did not send any boot or recovery disks, is there a disk or how do I recover vista?
You need the recovery disks if you brought the computer from a retailer. Otherwise you will need to know what hardware you have in your case and then download all the drivers manually. Problem with that is you cant get into the pc to install them. Contact Toshiba and ask them to send your recovery disks. Without them you cant do anything

Its getting old, been upgrading it over the past few years, mainly the ram and the gpu's. Will hold out till some next year before I build another one.
Get the same bit version as the Vista you have installed. Should fix any Vista boot/startup problems.
Boot the cd, select "Repair My Computer" ( at the bottom of the screen that says "Install Now" ) Run startup Repair - may take 3 runs to fix everything.
