Hi and welcome.

Please could you fill in your system specs under User CP, it always helps us when trying to solve problems.

Please could you also make sure your GPU drivers are up to date.

What program did you use that told you your Nvidia drivers were slowing you down?

It may also be worth running a Malware check (especially if you downloaded this potentially dodgy program off the internet) using Anti Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com). You probably don't have any installed but it's better to be safe than sorry.

the system tools maintenance tools it just said it was slowing the comp down can i uninstall it do i really need it

Could you please tell us exactly what it says?

Can you also tell us what graphics card you have.

In answer to your question you do require these drivers for your PC to be able to handle graphics or possibly even for your display to work.

Don't uninstall them.

If you are not experiencing a significant lack in performance form your PC then there really isn't much reason to worry.

As I said in my previous post, please make sure your GPU drivers are up to date, I will be more than happy to point you to a download link if you tell me what graphics card you have.

If you want something to replace your PC hobby then I can thoroughly recommend long distance cycling. It's dead cheap after you get the bike.

Just pick a cycle route and take a picnic in your backpack, most of the time the views are very nice and its dead easy after you've done a couple of trips.

Back to your PC. If your PC is 10 years old it has done very very well (was it originally running 2000?).

If you're having hardware/general problems which you can't be bothered to fix any more it might be time to get a new off the shelf PC.

Most of them are thoroughly reliable and won't cause you any problems (don't go for a HP Pavilion Laptop, you wouldn't believe how many people come on this forum with problems relating to it!).

If you think putting more RAM in your PC will help by all means do so but be aware if you're running a 32bit OS you can't have more than 4GBs of RAM.
