My problem is I used MEPIS to shrink my Vista 32 partition so I could create another partition to install Vista 64, all looked well, except my system will not boot from either partition from the looks of it, can anybody help me, the 1st partion is "primary" and the 2nd is a extended one with a logical partition. The primary still has the boot flag but I cannot get into Windows at all, I don't want to re-format the whole drive as I have years of data and my last back-up was a while ago, can anyone help me?

Hmm, maybe your MBR was moved now that you installed Win7. Use the bootable CD of this program - then you are independent of the OS. Inspect the disk and if you see a small 100MB partition, make that primary and active - deactivate the Vista partition. Else, try the Win7 partition with the same procedure.

But make 100% sure that you NEVER end up with more than 4 primary partitions - that spells serious trouble.
