I want to install ubuntu on a partition but i can't seem to partition enough space through windows disk manger it will only give me 730mb and i would like to cut both partitions in half. I already have 3 partitons on that HD recovery OS maintenance and c:\ how can i do another? Thanks!! Would dual boot be better? I dunno you tell me kinda would like one at a time though

Post a picture of your disk management so that we see what your situation is. And what partition do you want to shrink - I assume C:. 4 primary partitions per drive is the maximum - so you have at least one to go. Even for double booting, you need a seperate Ubuntu partition. Question is whether this is the best approach. You can consider running it in a virtual partition (e.g. using Virtual Box). Tell me how much RAM you have to see whether that makes sense. There are a lot of advantages to the virtual approach. I used to run Ubuntu like that.
