I was wondering If any help please. I password my bios. Is any way that this can be hacked? Its mainly on my laptop its a gateway p6860fx do you need the specs?
any help would be awesome:D
You could reset the BIOS to wipe out that password, but you will need to consult your laptop's documentation, or check at the manufacture's website, for how. It's not as easy to do with a laptop.
Hi thank you for the reply. But I beleive I misphrased the question. If the laptop is stolen or something like that and the person that took the notebook is trying to access it, can the pw be hacked. I understand that you can always short out the eeprom and have it reprogramed or from my understanding that the factory can reprogram the eeprom. The deal is that gateway knows the laptop belongs to me the serial is registred in my name. So trying to send it to gateway is a waste of time. To the best of my knowledge the bios pw can not be hacked Please respond thank you for your time. Oh and the laptop has vista 64 on it i hope this helps.
I am sooo sorry for wasting your time please forgive. I found out by doing a simple google search that to my much disbeleive that the pw can be cracked. All kinds of programs on the net that can do it. Once again I am sorry for wasting your time and taking up a useless thread that a important question
