PC very slow to boot up

Hi

I am new to this forum, hello to everyone.

Can anyone help. Over the last few days my PC will not boot up correctly (takes forever) The black screen appears " suggesting I let the PC run repair and idagnotic check. Gives the option to select this. but when I select it just keeps running the seconds down and does not commence the repair. The only option I have is to start windows normally, this eventually boots up the PC but there is obviously something wrong. I have check the event log and this is givings a Warning Event ID 200 Op Code shutdown.

I run normal defrag and disc cleanup regularly.

Hello infooncomp and welcome to the forums

Can you do the following for me please:

SFC Scan:
1. Open the start menu
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. Right click on cmd and select Run as administrator
4. In command prompt, type:

sfc /scannow

5. Let it run and let me know if it finds any Integrity Violations



Malwarebytes:
Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run a full scan:

http://www.malwarebytes.org

Attach the log with your next post


DDS
Download and run DDS:

http://forums.whatthetech.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&req=download&code=confirm_download&id=16

This will then open two text files (dds.txt and attach.txt) which you will need to upload with your next post.


CCleaner
Download and install CCleaner:

CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download


Run the cleaner

   Note

DO NOT USE THE REGISTRY FUNCTION

Post back and attach all of the logs that I asked for please

Also, can you do this for me please:

CKScanner:

• Please download CKScanner from here to your Desktop.

Make sure that CKScanner.exe is on the your Desktop before running the application!

• Double-click on CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
• After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
• A message box will verify the file saved
• Double-click on the CKFiles.txt icon on your Desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

It is like that because you are using the WUSIWUG Editor - Go to User CP and then Edit Options

Editor is near the Bottom - Try Standard
