Portal 2 Random Crashes

I've just installed Portal 2, everything was running fine and I got a solid 60FPS with triple buffering VYSNC, then all of a sudden, the game crashed...twice. No errors, no specific points where the game crashes, it just flashes black and my desktop appears. I've seen a fix for nVidia cards, where you add the game to your nVidia control panel, and set the .exe to "use nVidia GPU", but I saw no option to do so. I also tried running the game as administrator, and with different compatibility settings.

Any help?

Same thing is happening to me
but when I open either single or multi player the screen goes black and only allows me to see the little aiming thing, I hear the vocals In multi player I can see Chat and I can see the commands in both :S

Hello look in the event viewer to see if there are any errors that can help in solving the problem, and then please upload them so we can see the full error.

Have you tried to do a system restore to correct the problem, you can do one without losing any files, documents etc. If you think you can do one this is how...

Sorry, I solved this problem yesterday, all I had to do was update my drivers. No crashes so far. Thank you for your help anyways. REP+

Ah, just crashed again.

Nothing in the event viewer. The game crashes much more frequently now too, I can barely play less than 10 minutes before the game crashes.
