Psu & graphics card :s

problem started off like this

so following you guys' advice i went ahead and bought a 600 watt PSU.

When i was connecting everything to the new psu i wasn't really paying much attention and just plugged in whatever fitted (talking about graphics card power connector). Worked awesome for about a week and a half.

But since yesterday my monitor has darkened and there are tiny dots on the screen, as if my refresh rate was low or something. This is the exact same problem i experienced when i had it running along with my older PSU.

so i opened up my case and thought i must've messed up with the connectors.

Connectors coming from the graphics card:

The thing is, there are two sets of connectors that fit it
1st pair:

Theres also a PCI-E connector that comes straight from the PSU that fits in the graphics card. i think i've tried every combination but i might have missed something. Any idea which connectors go where? If both connectors from the gfx card should be connected? Or is my gfx card just messed up?

oh wow, you did it yourself without help? bravo, not many people would be brave enough to attempt that, however, there are a few issues, the connectors you need are indeed on the PSU, they are the black connectors that look similar to the first picture you posted(6 pin molex), if I remember correctly, your graphics card was a 450? that should only require 1 of those connectors, as it is plugged in now, just connect two of the 4 pin connectors to them (the ones that fit) that should be sufficient enough to power the graphics card, however, there's no telling what else you've connected incorrectly, try that setup and see if the issue is resolved, if not, then theres something else that we are overlooking.

Secondly. ALWAYS use the pci-e connectors off the psu, instead of a 4 pin to 6 pin converter.

Well i looked up a ton load of videos first.

I tried out both solutions but neither worked. tried the pcie as well as the 4 to 6 converter.

Still not working.

I'm almost a 100% sure that i connected everything else perfectly. What i did before putting the PSU in place was unplug the older connectors first and replace them with the new PSU's , One at a time so as to not mess up.

The dot-yness is still present, so i just switched to my onboard gfx from Bios for now

K, your 450, only has 1 pci-e plug right?

Its odd that it worked then went screwy...... What are the odds your psu went already.

that's ridiculous. it's only been about two weeks and has a 5 year warranty >.>
Any chances something is wrong with the graphics card?
It was roughly the same time after instlaling my gaphics card on the older psu that it started going nuts. But in that case i could hear my psu going crazy and really loud.

It could be... as its new psu, i'd maybe look into a warrenty replacement of the card.

You got a nice freind who'll let you try out the card in there system?
