Solved Public or Private?

Hi,
My network Sharing center shows my local network as Public. If I try to "View Full
Map". I am told:
"Windows cannot create the network map because the network's
location type is Public. In order to view the network map, you must set the networks
location type to Private in the Network and Sharing Center"

I do have a laptop (Dell), an external drive (My Book one TB) and a printer (HP Potosmart) that are shared on this network. I don't want to mess up something that is working but I would like
to see the network map. This is a wireless network.
Is it safe to change from public to private? If so, how do I do It?

Thanks
Frank C

Yes it's safe - go to the Netowrk and Sharing Center Select the link that says 'Public Network' beside your connection, and then click on the 'Home Network' option.

Note that you should only use the Home and Work networking options on netowrks that you alone (and family members) have access to - any other (such as Starbucks) should be Public Networks.
