Solved PUP.Conduit > SFC keeps finding errors.

Hi, I removed pup.conduit this morning (using the malwaretips.com tutorial for Pup.conduit), adwcleaner deleted all problems except "[ File : C:\Users\HTS\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hvpoe7ur.default-1368615550777\prefs.js ]"

Also, in normal boot mode, Adwcleaner starts with a wtsapi32.dll error, although I've run this scan and all others in safe mode first, I decided to check sfc /scannow

Sfc constantly reports errors every time I scan and restart.

SFC scan report attached. (NB: The cbs log was 11mb, so I only attached the most recent session).

Why not remove adware cleaner. I think that a much better choice (and the one that I use) is Malwarebytes and Security Essentials. This will solve your problem and give you the best possible protection.
If you feel that you must have adwarecleaner, uninstall, use ccleaner to get rid of any remnants, boot and intstall again

I use those too. I only installed and used adwcleaner today because it was suggested on many malware removal guides. And it cleaned things not found by mwbytes/MSE.

But technically there was no installation of adwcleaner, it was download and launch, thats not enough to corrupt file integrity so how do I solve this.

Ok
If your computer is operating properly, except for adwcleaner and for the SFC problems, there is only one course of action that I am familiar with, a repair install. If it were my computer (which does have minor SFC problems, but works correctly) I would forget about it. It is possible to correct minor SFC problems by means other than a repair install, but unless you are having operating problems it is not necessary and difficult. A repair install would solve your problem (posssibly not with adwcleaner) with SFC, but you need a Vista CD.

I'm concerned, what will repair install do, delete all my settings and give me factory settings but keep my files?
I must solve the sfc problem because I have kept computer backups virus and problem-free.
I have a choice now, either restore to a backup (sadly it's 2 months out of date, giving me a week's worth of work to do to get it up to date) or slipstream repair.

Which one is less work?

I think that using the back up would be the best course of action. In the future, keep the back ups current.

Before I do, I'm getting some help on another forum.
Thanks for all the help on here.
