Solved Random Restarts for the HTPC

Hi
I've been having this problem for nearly a year:cry:! Actually the BSODs appear before the restart. The restarts come on a random basis at anytime. It can happen a couple of times an hour or just couple of times a day, whether the PC is being loaded or just idle.
I just had all the hardwares (CPU, RAM, Mobo, PSU, VGA card) thoroughly checked by the vendor for a period of 4 weeks. They all worked fine, either individually or jointly as built. The agony has been dragging on and on....
As such I have reason to believe that there's a software issue. Before I take the last step of formatting the HDD and resetting up all the softwares, I'd love to see if gurus like you guys can help end this pain!

Here's the details:

The Vista is. . .
- x86 (32-bit)
- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
- a full retail version.

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 2.5 years
- What is the age of OS installation? 2.5years although I made several system recovery using the HDD image made every now and then.

Pls also see the attached for the crash info.
Million thx!

Welcome to the forum.

The vx450 is a okay psu, but its still not a big one... Try just running on 1 video card.

Thx for the reply.
I'm in fact running on a single HD3450 256MB VGA card only. The HD3200 I put down in the spec is only the onboard display chipset that comes along with the mobo. These 2 are linked up by the hybrid crossfire which the driver offers.

Yha, you can turn off the xfire still... which is what I'd try firstly.

I'm bnot a greart bsod dump reader, but i'll look at them tommorrow on my other system for a try.

Oh I forgot to tell you that I've tried different scenarios including:
1. Hybrid crossfire on (with HDMI connected to onboard display)
2. Hybrid crossfire off (with HDMI connected to the VGA card)
3. Hybrid crossfire off (with VGA card taken away, HDMI connected to onboard display)

The BSOD/restarts still there no matter what!
It's great if you can have a look at the dump file. Cheers

Welkl, youre lucky sorta..... ALL YOUR BSoDs are eamonm.sys, which is related to NOD32... It got borked in an update of some kind.

How to fix it, i'm unsure of. i'd google it.

I would start off by uninstalling Alcohol 120%. It is known to cause BSOD on Vista/Win 7. Once it's uninstalled run the SPTD removal tool. DuplexSecure

You can also try uninstalling and re-installing your ESET anti-virus. And to be on the safe side, I would like you to run some system scans.

1. How to remove malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS (aka Tidserv, TDSServ, Alureon)?
2. Full scan with Malwarebytes - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com
