Solved Re CCleaner

HI to All. I'm caught up in the problem having used CCleaner for many years but yesterday Avast which is a great Antivirus which I have used for also used for years took CCleaner out of my Laptop Vista H/P with SP2 running with 4Gb of ram and 500Gb memory. there is a big buzz going on in the Avast and CCleaner as to why this has happened, my view is there's no smoke without FIRE. and so I'm looking around for a replacement for CCleaner. Any Comments?

Welcome
There is smoke without a fire, in this case.
Almost all the regular members here use CC, as well as myself. There have been some reported incidents of conflicts between Cc and various software. The reason is not because there is a fire, but merely because there is a conflict between the two softwares. My suggestion is to put Cc on the excluded list of your AV and do the same with the excluded list of CC. CC has been respected and used for years without incident. My final comment would be to use the software and benefit from the added protection that it offers. If you have the pay version, you may want to turn off the real time protection and use only the scan function. Good luck.
