Reboot

I have Vista Home Premium running on my HP laptop, every time I switch it on I get a window requesting a reboot, after the reboot the same message comes up again, this has been happing for about a month now and I can't get rid of it, can anyone help please.

What does the msconfig startup tab say? Type msconfig into the start menu and press enter.

i don't expect he can even boot into windows, if the same message pops up after turning it on.
can you enter safe mode?
if so, we can start from there.

If you cannot get boot into windows normally, boot into Safe Mode. You can usually do this by tapping f8 at POST. Go to the windows orb, type msconfig in Start Search

=> Startup Tab
=> Disable All
Try to boot into windows normally. If you are successful, Go through your startup list and see what doesn't look like it belongs, or use process of elimination to see what's triggering that shutdown.
