Solved recovery partition SSD

I'd like to reclaim the 10 plus Gb on my SSD that holds the recovery partition for Vista on my Toshiba A500 series laptop.
I've already backed up the system to DVD's using the Toshiba recovery disk creator utility.

Anyone know how to reclaim the 10Gb? I'd really like to do it without losing the operating system if possible.

Also, I'm wondering if I do this and things get screwed up will the recovery disks regenerate the recovery partition and take me back to the original state?

Hello Steve, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You could use the free program Partition Wizard Home Edition to delete the recovery partition until it becomes unallocated space, then extend the OS partition into the unallocated space.

It went well!
The only rub is that "free" Partition Magic is only free up to a point.
It won't merge partitions for free. So, I ponied up the $20.
No problem.
Worked great.
Got my 10 Gb back and operating system was unphased.

Yikes, you didn't need to do that... You could've downloaded Easeus Partition Manager Home Edition. It's free, easy to use, and quite reliable. (I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone in a similar position reads this.)
