SD Card 2gb not working...

I'm not sure if this is a problem with a driver, my card or something else. I have a PYN Optima SD card, 2GB and when i put it in the SD/MMC card slot on my laptop (Dell 1525 with Vista basic) it does not show up on the my computer screen, it isn't recognized anywhere, but my 4 gig card of a different brand works just fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the SD card like i have seen so many recommend. I wasn't sure if it was a problem of the card or my system. any suggestions?

Try the card in a friends computer first to see if it is the card or your driver.

I did, I put it in my friends Dell laptop and it worked fine.

See what driver he has in device manager and download it from the manufacture to install on yours

I checked their driver and it wasn't very informative. They have windows 7 though, i might have been checking in the wrong place. under the catagory i checked for mine, it says the Rioch SD/MMC host controller, but she didn't have that, her's just said SD Card and didn't give any information except that it was a standard thing from microsoft, and under the catagory that I found the rioch driver, it only said on hers, "Intel(R) 5 series 6 ports ATA AHCI Controller" I don't know if that's the same thing, or where exactly to look on hers, since it's a different operating system.

Try updating your Flash Media Controller Driver, that did it for me.

If that is a SDHC card and your system is from prior of about Apr. 2007, it may not be supported by your hardware.

It's not an SDHD card, just SD. The thing was, it used to work... and then for a while it was give or take and then it just stopped working. The card works in other people's computers, and my 4 gig card works on my computer, just this one card doesn't work.

Make sure both of these drivers are up to date
For some reason the highlight on SD Card didn't show but that is the other

I don't even have a memory technology driver showing let alone the flashmedia controller. I've been searching all over for a link to download it but everything i've tried doesn't work. =/

Did the other computer that the card worked on have it?
If it did you need to install Flash

I have adobe flash, but not the folder that says memory technology driver, or the driver in it.

Looks like you have four SD card readers,why four?

I have no idea.... Should I get rid of some of them or, are they the wrong ones?

I can only say I have one and no problems.
Set a restore point and then remove some and try after each is removed.
If it is not helpful you can run the system restore again to go back to how you are now.
System restore is located at start,all programs,accessories,system tools,system restore.
