So I read stuff about shredding up the free space on your disks can help maintain system security.

So do you think it is safe to do on the C:/ drive first of all (Dont want to mess up my system)? Would it also potentially free up some space as well?

>>>> shredding up the free space on your disks
huh ?

Where did you read that ?
Can you post a link to that article ?

By any chance you meant " defragmenting " ?
In layman term, defragmenting is used to improve computer performance by collecting scatttered fragments and group them into one.
Anyway, defrag has absolutely nothing to do with " free space ' nor with " security ".
Here is a link to an atricle about " defragmentation " :

What is 'defragging', and why should I do it?
