slow boot up

Hope somebody can give me some advise please. recently my super fast computer has been very slow in booting up, the computer is still very fast once it is up and running. A computer 'expert' friend says it has something to do with the updates.
But other people I know who also have vista do not have this problem.
Any help or advise would be very much appreciated.

when you have booted up, go to the start menu, and type in search 'Windows Update'. press enter.
once the window has opened has opened, click on update history. if you could, please could you post a screen shot for us to take a look at the updates?
