Solved SM Bus Controller Driver

Reinstalled Vista-64 on my Dell Studio 540 and finally everything is working except the SM Bus Controller (missing driver).

Nothing has worked from any of Dell's disks or from the website. Have downloaded drivers from Intel for their G45/G43 Express chipset and it did not solve the problem. Actually it inactivated the display adapter, so had to roll back the driver to previous (difx64.exe file version 1.2.0.0)

Motherboard: Dell 0M017G A00.

I have no idea what the SM Bus Controller runs...everything is working...so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting Intel's latest updates.

Updating/Installing Java was needed before the whole process worked.
Intel updated 16 drivers, including the missing driver.
Doing a complete reinstall of Vista 64 this late sure is not fun.
