Solved - Vista to Win 7

I have an HP a6400f 32-bit computer with Windows 6 (Vista) SP2 installed. The system has a 2.2 GB processor and 3 GB of memory. What do I need to do to upgrade the system to Windows 7? The only Win 7 DVDs that I have are 64-bits and I would be surprised if those DVDs would work.

You have to do a clean install which means that you will lose all of your programs and files. Back up anything that you need to save first. You need to check with the manufacturer's website to see if there are any 7 drivers however in my experience many Vista drivers work on 7. You license needs to be commercial. If it came with another computer you won't be able to use it. Clean Install Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

My OS is Vista Home Premium, so I suspect that is not a commercial license. If true, it means that the computer is at a dead end, and, if that's true, then I'll pull the internet plug and use the computer off-line only. Sound like a good plan?

What matters is the 7 license.
