Startup weirdness

OK. Here it is. New behavior.
Never done before.

I start up as usual....I get a blue screen. Nothing else. Nothing loads.
Not a BSOD.

A blue screen. Nice and pleasing. But, still....a blue screen.
So I shut it down and restart.

Takes longer than normal, screen stays black longer than normal but eventually gives me the Windows logo and WELCOME which means I'm in.

Anything up there?

That sounds like a bad start up issue to me, ether conflicting or corrupting
use spybot start up utility, disable all and restart one by one... if this doesnt help then my second choice would be something to do with you G-card but i think the 1st would be more of the case

The home of Spybot-S&D!
Spybot search and destroy is a nice little free anti spyware program, it helps protect bad pages and finds any nasties on you pc, it also when Advanced mode is enabled has other Utilities that help rid and fix stuff like stubborn installs that wont install, helps understand and organise your start up programs and usualy if info is in the database gives you full descriptions of what things are and do and if they are required and for the paranoid people out there it also has a secure shredder for destruction of data that you never want retrieving

here is the description from the help manual

Description
Spybot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not cover yet. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm in trying to see if something snooped into your computer, too :) Spybot-S&D can also clean usage tracks, an interesting function if you share your computer with other users and don't want them to see what you worked on. And for professional users, it allows to fix some registry inconsistencies and offers some extended reporting features.

License
Spybot-S&D comes under the Dedication Public License.
