Stop Error 0x0000007B

Hi all,

I know there are several posts here relating to this error but cannot seem to find anyone who has/had the problem I have.

I cannot boot into Safe Mode (networking/command prompt) or with 'Last known good configuration'. I have tried all options but what ever I try, the blue screen comes back up and the computer restarts. I have run diagnostics, and a memory test, but after they completed the system just restarted.

This is the message I get;

Hope you can make out what that says. Can anyone help me out here?

Hi,

If you can access your computer, then upload the contents of the:

"C:\Windows\Minidump"

folder in zip format. In the mean time, look at this amazing webpage:

I can't access anything. I can't get on via safe mode. No matter what I try and do the blue screen shows up and it restarts itself. I don't know what to do. Maybe I should just take it to a repair shop to someone who knows what they're dealing with. I haven't got a clue how to fix it. Everything explained on that webpage is jargon to me. I wouldn't know where to begin.

Hi,

Your second hexadecimal argument (0xC0000034) is implying a hard disk controller driver issue. (Do not worry if you do not understand this!) You need to update your chipset drivers. If you tell me your motherboard model number, then I will download and extract the drivers, ready to be put onto a bootable memory stick or whatever.

For a start, what model is your system? Which manufacturer? What model number? Is it laptop or desktop (laptop I think)?

Yeah it's a laptop. It's a Compaq Presario v6000.

Hello MrJay,
Take a look at this, it will rebuild your MBR.

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

You could also try to update your Bios, use a USB flash drive to do this.

If you have a Vista disk, try a startup repair, i dont hold out much hope of the Vista disk being able to repair this though.
If this does not resolve this issue, then you may have to re-install Vista.

When you get it up and runnnig, go to your HDD makers site and download their Hdd testing software and run.
