System reserved

There anyway to remove the drive letter from this?
The normal way does not allow you since its a system partition and booting from utilities disk and removing it there also dont work the moment it boots it replace the drive letter

removing it from registry also results in same experience it just keeps coming back

diskpart alos refuse to remove the letter

No have tried that as well , just says cannot remove drive letter from system disk will prevent it from boot etc

this is the first time with a vista install that this happens

From what I can find, you can't remove the drive letter for this partition in Vista. You can in later OS's.

I don't know why you want to do that but, maybe you can hide it such has shown here- How to Hide System Reserved Partition with 3 Simple Ways?
which is for Win 7 and later.

Yea just opted to hide it instead , technically its not even suppose to have a drive letter
