The Last Backup Failed-errorOx 800403EF

I am no longer able to back up my files on Vista (Business 64bit). Error message says "The last backup failed" - refers to error Ox 800403EF - (which I can't find reference to anywhere) - and tells me to try again. I have retried many times over the past few weeks.

Please help.... Thank you.

Lets see if we can solve this.
Make a complete anti virus scan
Download and make an updated scan with malwarebytes.

If Ok
Make sure you have enough hard drive space. Either way report back.

As a test, you might see if resetting Backup and Restore using the tutorial below may be able to allow you to create a backup afterwards.

Hi richc46,

Thank you for trying to help. Did a complete antivirus scan (Norton 360) and some cookies were found and deleted. Dowloaded and scanned with Malwarebytes which found 3 incidents of Adware and deleted them.

Then I tried again to back-up, but to no avail - same error message comes up.

My free space is 449GB on C:drive/1.42GB on D:drive.

Hello Brink,

Thanks for trying to help. I reset backup - and it took out date of last backup listing.

Tried again to backup files and same error message appeared.
