I don't know anything about that program but I have used tuneup utilities both on my own system and back when I was doing remote support and I like it although it also has a 30 day trial. For a tuneup that might be all you need however long term you frequently need to keep your system free of crap and IMO ccleaner is one of the best and it is free. I would however stay away from registry cleaners as they frequently cause damage to the registry and rarely make a difference. If you use a tuneup program that has that option built in I would deactivate it.

For me, cleaning up the registry and defragmenting the hard drive makes a big difference in performance, a positive difference. I already looked at that link some time ago. It was useful!

Well you are lucky because a lot of people come here with registry problems due to these so called cleaners and optimizers which really don't help. IMO you don't mess with the registry.

I'll take your advice and be more careful by setting restore points and all the other precautions. But I still think cleaning the registry helps, since it takes away those that are invalid.
