Now the proud owner of a recovered, Comodo-free HP machine. Much easier than I thought but then again, you said it would be. Bit of a pain reloading all the software but well worth the bother. Thank you so much for all your advice, much appreciated. All's now well with the world!!

Doing the factory restore option will wipe everything out and restore it back like it was the first day you got it and turned it on. Anything you have installed after that, will need to be reinstalled by you again. :(

I have failed with the uninstall of Comodo FW.
1. Used their method to uninstall with the uninstaller.
2. used the suggested BAT file to clean up.
3. Also ran "NET STOP WINMGNT /Y" - Then instructed to go to C:\Windows\system32\wbem and delete the folder "Repository".
4.reboot, etc. 17 steps in all.

Comodo recomemds to run tool wbem.exe. And then How do I find it? .

Fourth try and still have both Win FF and Comdo FW on in security center.
