Uninstalling IE7

Internet Explorer has taken a turn for the worse. Not sure what caused it, but it loads slow (Firefox doesn't), and every click is slow as well. Is it possible in uninstall, and then reinstall? Would it worth my effort to give that a try. I have been using it for about a year and a half now, and it's been great.

The problem started when I installed Canon scanner software. Not sure what happened, but immediately after IE7 started acting up.
It's slow as molasses and often freezes. If anyone has suggestions please, please let me know. It's driving me crazy.

I did uninstall the Canon program, but evidently something is still interfering. I have also scanned with Spybot and Norton, and everything comes up fine. I want my old, fast IE7 back!

One quick thing you could try is install Maxthon. It's a free browser that uses the IE control as the core but it has a bunch of plugins like firefox. I have a little app killer that automatically kills iexplore.exe every time it tries to pop up. Better to avoid the hassle. :)

I have tried reset, running without add-ons, and it's still slow as molasses and just acting erratic. I will keep looking until I find the solution.

Maxthon uses the IE ActiveX Control. It may be a good diagnostic step. The idea is to keep dividing the area where the problem can be located. Hardware/Software then divide the software. If Maxthon works or doesn't work it should give a clue where the problem is. You have to go step by step... unless you are lucky and guess right :)
