Unknown Cable?

I have a cable with a square nine 9 pins, a second square nine 9 pins and a single flat blade pin same on both ends. I am assuming it is to go from computer to computer. What is it? It also has a molded clamp on each end.

It came with my computer about 1 year ago.

Can you post a picture of this cable, showing the ends clearly.

I think bud might be talking about the following DVI end.

If that's the case, it's the cable that replaced the blue VGA cables for the screens.

That was my first thought when I read it. I build my own pc's, so I wouldn't really know if the majority of them come with both cables. Don't they generally come with just an adapter?

Yeah, usually the card comes with the adapters, but the screens come with the cable.

Most likely came with the monitor.
It can be used instead of the VGA cable that is probably connecting your monitor to the PC/Video card, but only if the card has an output that the cable can connect to.
It is not "needed" in your case, but could probably be used.
I'd say if you're fine with how your pc and monitor are right now, I wouldn't bother with it....but that's just me.

Thanks Red, you are right I don't need it now. My monitor has the connection but the PC does not have that connection. Guess I need to wait for a new PC. ;)

Need to mark solved. ??

I will say one thing though. Don't throw away the cable. My monitor came with just the VGA cable and not a DVI cable. Having to go back and buy one the next day wasn't pretty.....not cheap.

Never know when it could come in handy and save ya a few $$.
